GENEVA COMMUNITY CHEST SCHOLARSHIP
For students who give back, from an organization dedicated to giving
The Geneva Community Chest is a Geneva-based all-volunteer organization that gives financial assistance to groups and associations dedicated to helping deserving and in-need citizens of Geneva and the surrounding area. The GCC Board of Directors is comprised of 27 members, all of whom are focused on helping others. Volunteerism, and the act of helping others in need is at the very heart of the Geneva Community Chest.
For that reason, earlier this year, we were pleased to announce the inaugural GCC Scholarship, primarily based on that same act of reaching out and providing help where it is needed through community volunteerism. The Geneva Community Chest is offering financial assistance to two (2) graduating seniors who live within the borders of Geneva Community Unit School District 304 and have a passion for community service and consider helping others an important part of their life. Each student selected will receive a $1,000 scholarship.
In May 2016 we were pleased to award two $1,000 scholarships to GHS graduating seniors Michael Wilkins and Ted Spiro, both of whom have already demonstrated a clear passion toward community service.
